Story of the cover art: 
I was commissioned to do a painting for a couple's anniversary as a surprise. My only prompt was this quote: "Our backs tell stories no books have the spine to carry" and for it to be on a woman's back. This was a pleasure to paint. I enjoyed patterning the headwrap. She's rocking red, black and green for the Black Liberation flag and looking at a bookshelf reflecting the same colors. This image is about strength, pride, and celebration.
